I love my 150yo San Francisco apartment building, but it has issues. A big one is, I have maybe ten square feet of counter space in my kitchen. That has to hold cutting boards, small appliances, food containers, dish drying rack, and after all of that I have maybe six feet of space for actually making food. So anything that saves me a tiny bit of space is valuable.
Recently it occurred to me that I already cut my dish drying rack in half to save space, and every single day half of what remains it taken up by my Aeropress, which I use almost every day. I should move the Aeropress somewhere else to free up that space. I decided that a little fixture could hang and dry the various Aeropress parts hanging from one of my cabinets, taking up no counter space at all. I drew up a few different designs until I ended up with a very simply design that has all the Aeropress parts (inner tube, outer tube, and strainer) hanging outward from a central core. It prints as a single part and can mount to the bottom of any surface with a single Large 3M Command Strip. Works beautifully. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7401337
