Printing a New 3D Printer

The coolest thing about 3D printers is that they can copy themselves. I started building a GUS Simpson printer using a Makerbot 2x, and here's what I have so far. I've printed all the printable parts, assembled most of the hardware, and all I have left to do is buy and install the electronics. It's a pretty good weekend project. Thanks to Reneu Lab for letting me use their Makerbot.

  1. Good stuff, Travis. Self-replication is a blast.
