3D Printed Strandbeests

One day I decided I wanted to make a strandbeest.

I 3d printed several mechanism iterations, settling on this design. It works pretty well, considering its mechanical limitations. The entire machine is driven by one crankshaft. There's a lot of friction, but then again it has 120 unlubricated plastic journal bearings. The frame and linkages are sufficiently stiff and precisely printed that it walks without bending or backlash. I'm going to stick a motor and a battery pack on it and see how well it runs.
